#dotheWRITEthing Writing Camp for Girls is a creative writing and crafts program designed to promote confidence, creativity and WELLness!
This workshop series carefully crafted by Miss Kiane, a 20+ year social worker, human service practitioner, and healing artist, to give young girls a safe space to emote, create, and grow. We use restorative healing circles to open and close each session, we build on themes of self-worth, confidence, and love, we invite guest teaching artists to bolster our crafts projects and we learn about different forms of creative expression while connecting the dots between writing and emotional WELLness every step of the way. Each session builds on the next so participants should plan to attend each session. This helps the young ladies to get to know each other, encourage consistency, and foster safety.
#dotheWRITEthing Writing Camp for Girls is a 5-week series that begins October 3rd and continues every Saturday thereafter until Saturday, October 31st. Sessions begin 11 am and end 1 pm. The final session is a showcase where participants can invite parents and community members to enjoy a ceremony that celebrates and showcases both the participants and their creations.
